{ Inspiration } David Woodward

I always love collages, especially the kind of styles with a bit retro or rustic touch. And I am so jealous because I really wan't to scoop the technique into my creative factory in my brain and produce it like crazy. Look at these great pieces of David Woodward, I love his colour scheme (fan of smoky salmon colour ) and grainy images. Hopefully one day I can step up to that level, I really hope so.

Anyways, hope you have a great week so far and pardon my slackness this week. I really tried to have some pieces this week and I didn't like it so I rather share you with the goodness not my horrible rushed works.

It's pouring rain now and stay dry everybody!!

{ Textile } Who says you can't be creative?

Original drawing by Andrew Innes,  editing by me.

I was struggling to create my new logo idea because I want a vector logo that I can use it anywhere then Andrew kept saying he can do better than me. After so many of " Let me draw it!!! ", I gave up my laptop and let him freestyle and he insisted no tips for him at all, and voila!! I love it when I saw it, it's raw with his own style and even he laughed at it as it's silly and I still decided to make it a pattern/textile. What do you think guys? Sometimes I think it's a gift to do everything freely like this, especially I am always overthinking.

Lastly, TGIF guys! What are you doing this weekend? We are going to try boat dive this weekend at Magic Point, apparently its specialty is seeing sharks, surely we will have a good time! Can't wait!

{ Moody Moodboard } Bitter Sweet

Images// internet, design//me

I have been thinking about making a moodboard for a while, so I started to search around then I found blush is such a beautiful colour and the resources are easy to find. Most girls secretly or officially love this dreamy colour so might not be too hard to deal with since I have never done anything like this. Honestly, I struggled massively trying to put all the pieces together and make sure the gaps are consistent, heaps redos and undos and finally I got it done. The time I spent probably can let me make a tableful of feast if nothing goes wrong. It was really a challenge making things nicely together because the more I stared at the photos I wanted to use, the more urges come up to my head. Or just I am too messy? Unlike some of girls growing up as a scrapbooking expert( which I wish I could be one) I was the tv kid watching non-stop cartoons and I still am that kid today. Oops, that just leaked out..

Anyway, I believe it is a very good training to maintain a nice balance, leave the unnecessaries and stay simple. Another lesson from the mundane today.

Nearly weekend, hang on guys!!

{ My Work } My a year in review pieces have finally arrived!!

Hi guys! Sorry for my slackness of posts, I have got so many things to plan in my head and Christmas time absolutely got me super busy! A few weeks back I sent my work to be printed and I am so happy to tell you that they are finally here!! I want to make them as tea towels so I made them printed on cotton fabrics and asked Andrew's lovely mother Dianne ( I don't know how to sew....) to help me make them! It's my first tea towel/ fabric work and I've learnt a lot from the whole process and next time I want to make a pillow case with summer colours!

Hope you all have a great week! Christmas is coming very soon and I am very keen for a break as well!

{ Sketchbook } Casablanca (or wine) inspired drawing...

Hi every one! Have you come across a creative that suddenly boost all the inspiration after having a few sips of magical juice? I hope you know what I am talking about, if not, please stay innocent, thank you. I know I shouldn't say this, it's a very bad, very bad example, but somehow I wish I could know that I am not alone. I have never tried to abuse alcohol but I probably can describe myself as art-uptight sort of person. When I have a teeny-tiny thought about something might not work in my head, I will not even start it. Sometimes when I feel more relax and ideas just like whirlwind coming from everywhere! I know, I know, I am hearing you, this is such a horrible excuse! Guess that's why I started this blog and I wish this would be my conscience cricket who will whip me to create more works. So this is a drawing I finished the other night while I was sipping a glass of Pinot Noir.  Well, we should live a little sometimes, shouldn't we? (wink)

I watched this film Casablanca after I finished reading the comic book Sailor Moon's special edition. I am not quite sure about how many of you know about this classic (at least to me) comic book and the creator got inspired by this beautiful old film then made this book lovely yet full of sorrow. It's about the cat( Sailor Moon's campaign, Luna) fell in love with an astronaut-to-be who has cancer, I was crying the whole time while reading this book and I decided to find this original film after that. It's a great film which has addressed how beautiful and inevitable to embrace the imperfect ending in life. I guess the little Pinot Noir also arose the good old memories of my adolescence very well...

Anyway, I might talk about too much nonsense, but I do hope you guys have a fantastic and creative weekend!
